Accompanying Fee (RCM exams/competitions)

Fees vary for type of event and how much music to be performed. Please inquire for prices. 

Referral Policy
For students of Noted Music Studio who refer its services to other potential students, if that student pursues lessons, the existing student will earn a 60 minute free referral lesson.

Lesson Policies 2023-2024
  1. Missed Lesson Policy – Enrolling in lessons is a purchase of teacher and studio time and as a courtesy to the teacher 24-hour’s notice should be given when a student is unable to attend their lesson time as courtesy to the teacher if possible. If a student is sick, lessons can be taken online for their regular scheduled lesson time otherwise a student forfeits their lesson. Online links are sent out in case needed at the beginning of student registration.
  2. Lessons that are cancelled for purpose of travel, other conflicts of other activities during the school calendar time and regular lesson time is not eligible for any makeup lessons. You pay for the time of the teacher to keep the spot open solely for that purpose. As the same in sports or dance, there are no refunds made if lessons are missed and the student not being able to attend a lesson. Make-up lessons are not given.
  3. If a teacher needs to cancel, that lesson will be made up at the earliest convenience of both teacher and student. Make-up lessons can take place in the studio or online and at times, if suitable, with a different teacher.
  4.  Supplies fee – There will be a fee of $35.00 non-refundable supplies fee for all vocal students to be paid the first lesson of the school year. This covers music photocopying costs, and print outs of music given to vocal students as well as backing tracks of piano accompaniments I record during lesson time (or for online students recorded in my own time). For each accompaniment track requested outside of lesson time and in the teachers own time for auditions, competitions, home use etc there will be a cost of $10 each backing track added to your invoice.
  5. The yearly registration fee is $25 and this is due upon registration payment for July 1st.
  6. Payment Terms - Fees are paid based on a 10-month teaching year and payments are due the 1st of each month or subject to a late fee of $20 if not received on time. Payment can be made in forms of cheques, via paypal (credit card (subject to a 3% transaction fee)), etransfer or cash. Cheques are made payable to myself; Laura Styler. If a payment is late, there will be a $20 fee applied to the next month’s invoice, if late fee is not received, the appropriate lesson time will be deducted off the next lesson.
  7. NSF Cheques – will be subjected to a $48 fee as per current bank rates.
  8. Withdrawal Policy - A four-week notice is requested for the termination of lessons before the following months payment is deducted. In this case, all remainder payment will be returned to the student. If the four-week notice is not given and the payment has already been received for that month, there will be no refund of the remainder lessons for that month.
    8) Statutory Holidays – No lessons will be scheduled Family Day, Thanksgiving, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day or Christmas and Easter Vacations as per the Catholic School and Calgary Board of Education Calendars.
