Free lesson consultations are provided for potential new students. Lesson consultations are 30 minutes in duration and gives the opportunity to 'try before you buy' and commit to music lessons, making sure they meet your expectations. I pride myself being one of the very few music studios offering a free consultation, I believe this is an important part of a meeting between student, teacher, and parent(s). There is an opportunity to ask questions, provide a teacher with background knowledge of any musical abilities, get a feel for the lesson structure and the methodologies to make sure there is a good student-teacher fit.
Lessons are taught on a very high quality performance instrument: Yamaha Avant Grand N1X. A digital hybrid piano with hammers to recreate the feel of a real piano. (as shown above) and Yamaha Modus digital piano.
Lessons - What to Expect?
Music lessons have many benefits and teach students how to focus their attention.
In a piano lesson, a student would usually start with some technique (scales) and then move on to repertoire that they are learning. Ear training, aural exercises and theory work are also incorporated into lessons.
In a voice lesson, a student starts with technique and vocal warm-up (scales), a copy of the vocal warm-ups are provided them on cd/usb in order for home practice. Repertoire is worked through with great attention to technique and healthy singing. Sight singing, ear training, theory is also a part of lessons and will occur at the end of the lesson. Voice students bring a USB stick to each lesson which then enables their repertoire backing tracks to be recorded for home practice.
To keep lessons fun and interactive, there are flashcard games, music theory homework competitions with prizes and sticker rewards given to award a students' achievement.
Recitals occur twice a year for students to showcase their achievements of the year to family and friends.
